Lost content: lets pool our resources and save good shit.

Ok as Im sure everyone knows, shittons of old OFP sites are dying, folks are getting new PCs and loosing data, or just plain loosing interst in the game.

This means that some pretty damned good shit is being lost, or becoming hard to find.

I propose we all start pooling what we have and archiving shit.

Everything from addons, to SP/MP missions, we should collaberate and pool it all together and get a hueg collection going so this stuff isnt lost. Obviously, in the case were the creator is still around we should at least ask or let them know, but in many cases the people that made it are gone from the community, which means once the sites hosting their shit go down, the stuffs lost for good unless someone that has it uploads elsewere.

Prehaps past that, we could start modding the mods and come out with a teh org mod pack or some shit, but thats kinda looking too far ahead for now proably (I myself havent had time to mod stuff in so long that Ive forgotten most of what I once knew).

Good idea. OFP.info is probably the main OFP resource site still up, and some of its links are broken, I recommend starting there.
As for making an OFP.org mod, while I'm still modding and thus have the current skills, I dunno if OFP would be really that modable in comparison to A1/A2. Lets be honest, the engine has a limited model/texture capability and features are missing. Having said that the headach of doing rvmats wont exist and ofcourse you can get away with not having the top of the line HD graphics on your models  .

I'm happy to help, if theres interest.

I wondered today if opflashpoint.org was still going - and it is!... kind of.

I've still got the SFP4 mod (Swedish Forces). I'll try and upload it somewhere.

EDIT #1: I've uploaded it to Mega File and this link should work (but not sure for how long - more permanent host available?):
http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/172722/SFP4-7z.html (.7z, 143MB)

Here's a quick summary of the mod from an old news post I put of it:
The Swedish Forces Pack 4 (SFP4) has been released.

Two long years have we worked on this, and boy have we made some changes since SFP 3.0. No part of SFP 3.0 has been left unchanged, everything has been updated, modified and in some cases completely redone. A lot has been added to what was already present in 3.0, and we can guarantee that the SFP 4 experience is heaps better than the SFP 3.0 experience.

Over 50 small arms and support weapons are available, over 250 soldiers to choose from in the mission editor. You can drive around the country-side in 5 different vehicles, roll around safely in 10 different armoured vehicles, or soar above the battlefield in one of the 9 aircraft available.

As the name suggests, the mod focus's on all things Swedish military. The SFP team has also released several extras: a Swedish Names Patch (swedish names for everything), Players Manual, and Editor Manual. The players manual talks about the features, giving info on the ranges of weapons, how to use the sights on the M203, timed grenades, about the AI-blocking smoke, moving speeds, etc. Well worth having a look at, as the SFP team state:

...even if you're a seasoned OFP veteran it would be a good idea to at least browse through the Player's Manual before putting on your M/90 helmet, picking up your AK 5 and charging into battle.

The editors manual talks about activating scripts in missions, custom callsigns, and applying rank markers, among other things. See the news post on the release at the SFP site for more information.

EDIT #2: I just remembered. I loved the old JohnnyLump's Militaria website, which listed every conceivable flashpoint addon. It died, but I kept posted it on my sandbox at the BIS Biki. Anyone interested in helping me update it? Most mirrors are broken, but some such as those from ofp.info and opflashpoint.org can be fixed by changing their URLs slightly (see first note on the page). I believe it is possible for others to log in and change that page??
